About me

I completed my bachelor’s degree (B.Sc Honors) my doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D) at the University of Quebec in Montreal. During my graduate studies, I received training in CBT at the Centre de Services Psychologiques de l’UQÀM, and was trained in a humanistic-existential approach to therapy at the McGill University Health Center, working with couples and/or individuals struggling with issues related to their sexuality. I also completed my final internship in Italy at the International Psychology Clinic in Rome, working mainly with expats: helping them adjust to their new lives and address the frequent challenges that come with expatriation (e.g. feelings of isolation or loneliness, anxiety, relationship issues, cultural adjustment, etc), or helping them work through long-standing difficulties.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals and couples to overcome difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, relational / attachment issues, and sexual difficulties.

N.B. Sharing my life with an Italian partner means I also share my time between Rome and Montreal, which is both a privilege and a challenge at times! Thankfully, modern technology has allowed me to offer online therapy which lets me move around flexibly without interrupting my patients’ therapeutic process.

My Approach

My goal as a psychotherapist is, firstly, to allow you to feel free and safe enough to express and explore who you are, and empower you to bring changes into your life that feel coherent with your needs, your values, and who you are fundamentally. I see the therapeutic relationship as a way to shed light on relational dynamics (that is, the way we relate to ourselves and others), so that healing occurs through this restorative, supportive therapeutic partnership.

When working with couples, the approach I most like to use is Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFCT), having seen how quickly and efficiently it allows couples to re-establish a feeling of safeness within their relationship and open up conversations that foster connection and intimacy.

I love my work and it is a true privilege to have people put their trust in me throughout their therapeutic journey. I am grateful for the invaluable lessons my patients have taught me about our beautiful, yet complex human experience. Though therapy is arduous at times, I truly believe in therapeutic process and all the benefits, growth and freedom that can emerge from it!
